The government will table an amendment proposing to extend the suspension of pension reform to long-term careers, in line with leftist demands, government spokeswoman Maud Bregeon announced Monday on BFM-TV.
As part of the examination of the Social Security financing bill, deputies on Wednesday had to debate the suspension of pension reforms that, at this stage, only concern the general system. This suspension is a condition set by the Socialist Party (PS) so that it does not censor the government. Environmentalists and communists are demanding that long-term careers are also affected.
The government’s amendments will detail the relevant audiences and will be submitted for discussion to Parliament which will take a decision, a government spokesperson said.
Last week, the Minister of Labour, Jean-Pierre Farandou, announced that Matignon had succeeded “open to expansion of the people concerned” by the suspension of reform, especially for those with long careers. If a vote is held, implementation will depend largely on abstentions.
mI Bregeon, however, launched a “warning” to object: “Taxes cannot be the answer to everything, all the time. » He said to himself “ready for alternative action” increased medical deductibles “financed by savings” and not by “new tax proposal”.
