Somec, a company based in San Vendemiano (Treviso), specializing in the design, production and installation of complex turnkey works in the civil and naval sectors, has completed, through its US subsidiary, Fabbrica LLC – part of the Horizons division, naval architectural engineering systems and civil facades – the contract for the construction of the facade of a hospital facility in Hartford, in the State of Connecticut (USA). The total value of this agreement is 29 million dollars, and its economic impact is expected to occur between the second half of 2026 and 2027.
Project
The project concerns a nine-story building that is part of a long-standing healthcare complex, which has been involved in high-level surgical training, research and specialization for more than a century. It is a center recognized as a reference point for the city of Hartford and the State of Connecticut.
Fabbrica, in more detail, will develop – from assistance, to design and engineering – a customized curtain wall system covering an area of more than 11 thousand square meters, characterized by high technical content and distinctive architectural effects, the construction of which is expected in the two-year period 2026–2027.
Oscar Marchetto, president of Somec Group, underlined: «It is a matter of great pride to be increasingly selected for initiatives aimed at public health and medical research. Through our work, we combine technology, functionality and beauty, realizing that care also requires places that are able to welcome and enhance the lives of those who live there every day. This vision also reflects our architectural and engineering skills, together with leading partners. For Fabbrica and the entire Somec Group, this order represents a new opportunity to express the experience gained in prestigious projects in North America, a field that has always recognized us as reliable and innovative protagonists”.
Professional Division
Just a few weeks ago Somec, through its Mestieri division, announced a series of new orders totaling 25 million euros related to high-end interior projects and iconic architectural elements in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
