In Italy by 2024, more than 3 million new trees will be planted

In 2024, 3,048,933 new trees were planted in Italy, equivalent to almost 4,000 hectares of new green land. An increase of 31% compared to the previous year, which confirms the acceleration of forestry policy at the national level. This is certified by the Atlas of Forests, a publication edited by Legambiente and AzzeroCO2 with technical support from Compagnia delle Foreste for Il Sole 24 Ore, which analyzes 294 projects launched throughout the region, both in urban and extra-urban areas.
