He will not confuse the entire audience: the police officers of the city of Creil are angry with him, which explains his presence in the defendant’s box. However, the defense of Adelino D., 40 years old, did not convince the judge at the Senlis (Oise) Court, Monday 10 November.
On the evening of Friday, October 3, when Creil city agents intervened during an inspection, several people allegedly threw glass bottles and cans at agents to prevent the arrest of a man. A policewoman gets a glass bottle thrown at her head. At two o’clock, the policewoman received three days of ITT. Adelino D., a resident of the neighboring town of Nogent-sur-Oise, will be identified as the author of this pitch.
“I’m a bit close”
The only point of contact between his version and that of the city police officer, Adelino D. was present on the evening of October 3, in front of a grocery store, in a group of about fifteen people consuming alcohol, despite a city decree prohibiting this kind of gathering.
When the agents arrive, it doesn’t take long for tensions to rise, especially with eager individuals refusing to comply with the checks. As police tried to control it, the group became more threatening around police. In the front row of protesters, Adelino D. was one of the most urgent, while filming the police with his cell phone.
“They were so close to my colleagues that I had to use my petrol bottle,” said a city police officer. The attitude did not dampen enthusiasm, glass bottles were thrown at the police. One of them hit the policewoman on the head, one of her colleagues officially recognized Adelino D. as the perpetrator of the throw.
“I didn’t throw any bottles,” the defendant protested. I was filming with my cell phone, I was a bit close, that’s true, but that’s all. This city’s police team is angry with me. » Allegations of revenge denied by city police officers. “We had to fine him six times in five years, but he came every day to consume alcohol in the station area. »
Adelino D., a plasterer, father of five children, has been convicted twelve times, half of them for violence or insults against persons in positions of public authority. “The city’s video surveillance corroborates the police statement,” said deputy prosecutor Édouard Guillou.
On the other hand, the defense attorney, Me Ève Gimenez, considered that the video did not provide evidence of Adelino D’s guilt. “Everything depends on the police’s statement,” he stressed.
These elements were deemed sufficient by the judge who sentenced Adelino D. to 18 months in prison, plus the revocation of the previous six month suspended sentence. Therefore, he will remain in detention for two years and prohibited from living in Creil for three years.
