At least 12 dead and twenty injured in a suicide attack in the Pakistani capital | International

At least 12 people died and 27 were injured after a “suicide attack” on Tuesday near a district court in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed. There is currently no claim of responsibility for the attack.

Police sources quoted by Pakistani television network Geo TV said the explosion occurred next to a vehicle parked in front of the district court, which was later evacuated. The terrorist, according to Naqvi, attempted to enter the court premises on foot but, after waiting a while at the door, detonated the bomb outside, near a police vehicle, at 12.39pm local time (8.39am in mainland Spain).

Authorities sent security reinforcements and experts to the scene to analyze the explosion scene. Some sources suggest that the decapitated head of the alleged suicide bomber was found on site, although for now there are no details on his identity.
