School buildings are a “strategic priority” and, to enable timely intervention, “continuous monitoring” of the state of conservation and maintenance of schools is essential and the National School Building Registration system must therefore be continuously and properly updated. According to what Adnkronos understands from the source Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara he addresses himself like this, with a letter, to the president of the National Association of Italian Cities (Anci) Gaetano Manfredi and the Union of Italian Provinces (Upi) Pasquale Gandolfi so that all local authorities are sensitized to “ensure continuous updating of safety data”.
What’s in the letter?
In the letter that Adnkronos was able to see, we read: “I am considering itSchool construction is a strategic priority to ensure the full implementation of the right to education and guarantee students and all school staff a safe, friendly, inclusive and fully functional learning environment. continuous monitoring of the state of conservation and maintenance of buildings is essential used for school purposes.”
“In this context, the National School Building Registration System (Snaes) takes a strategic role to enable complete and transparent knowledge of buildings, especially in terms of safety and possession of certifications that are required by current legislation and, therefore, need to be continuously updated and implemented correctly”, we read further in the letter.
“Taking into account the fruitful collaboration that characterizes our relationship and also considering the large amount of Pnrr and national funding that is still in the pipeline for school construction, we sent a note to local authorities on September 10, however this It is important to continually work to ensure the insertion of lost data and update existing data“, explained the minister, referring specifically to “Section D1 – Certification and Section D2 – Fire Prevention Documentation (existence of Occupancy Certificate, Thermal Power Plant Approval Certificate, Fire Prevention Certificate)”.
“We did the same with schools, writing on September 10, September 29 and then last November 3 to all principals to update the sections for which they were responsible, with particular reference to evacuation plans and risk assessment documents. In fact, the completeness and up-to-dateness of this information was very important – recalled Valditara – for have an up-to-date picture of the safety status of the school’s building stock and be able to plan future investments effectivelybut also in the context of transparency and a maximum sense of responsibility towards families who entrust their daughters and sons to educational institutions every day.”
Therefore, the Minister concluded, addressing representatives of Municipal and Provincial associations, I believe in your valuable contribution to raising awareness among all local authorities to guarantee continuous updating of safety data, in full and shared awareness that school buildings are a priority for everyone and that the safety of schools, students and school staff is an important value, commitment and strategic priority.
