Globus Group has spun off all food markets in Russia by the end of 2024 to concentrate on its business in Germany, the Czech Republic and Luxembourg. The company, which is located in St Wendel, Saarland, said that the latest financial year (30 June 2025) cannot be compared directly with the previous year.
This group had a positive balance for the last financial year. If you compare the financial year with six months of business in Russia, gross sales in 2024/2025 reached 8.8 billion euros, 0.4 percent higher than the previous year, as Globus announced.
Operating profit before interest and tax (EBIT) rose 4.3 percent to almost 255 million euros. Globus has adjusted and separated itself from 20 Russian food markets due to the political situation. The company also said it handed over four sites in the second half of the financial year.
Globe is one of the largest Family business in German retail. The company is based in St. Petersburg. Wendel, Saarland. The group employs more than 34,000 people in 77 hypermarkets and 90 hardware stores, including almost 28,000 people in Germany.
