Two men and a minor arrested for locking up and molesting a woman in her home for a week | Spain

The Guardia Civil arrested two men and a minor accused of having detained a 50-year-old woman in her home for a week in the Murcian municipality of Alhama de Murcia (23,500 inhabitants). The woman, already released, was locked in one of the rooms in deplorable hygienic conditions and had bruises and burns caused by cigarettes, as well as symptoms of dehydration and severe malnutrition.

An off-duty civil guard, as police sources explained, learned that the victim was being held against his will in his home, which he shared with the three arrested people. The three have accumulated precedents for various crimes related to drug dealing and consumption, and were already known to officers in the area.

Upon entering the house, the officers found a room with an external padlock in which the woman, who was in “deplorable physical conditions”, was locked, so they decided to transfer her to the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia. The medical report shows that the victim, who remained locked in that room for about a week, had severe malnutrition, dehydration, bruises and cigarette burns.

The woman, according to investigative sources, had also suffered every type of harassment: her captors cut her hair, insulted her, did not let her go to the bathroom and prevented her from taking her medicine. They also gave her no food or drink, and in the room where she was locked there was barely a mattress on the floor, other than clothes and garbage.

The officers found several branches of marijuana hanging from the ceiling as a drying rack in other rooms of the house. The three detainees are accused of the crimes of illegal detention, injuries and crimes against public health.
