Sanremo youngsters, who host Gianluca Gazzoli

Gianluca Gazzoli is the new host Sanremo youthwhich starts tonight on Rai 2. From his love of sport, to books about the revenge of the ‘underdogs’ to disease: who is the radio host and podcaster who will accompany 24 young people who dream of the Italian song festival stage until mid-December.

Career between radio, TV and publishing

Born in 1988, Gianluca Gazzoli was born in Vigevano and raised in Cologno Monzese. After his beginnings in a tourist village, Gazzoli has accumulated a wide range of experience in radio and TV, from Radio Number One to Radio2, from ‘The Voice’ to ‘Quelli che il calcio’. In 2017, in the third edition led by Carlo Conti, he hosted a live broadcast of the Sanremo Festival on Radio2 with Andrea Delogu and Gianfranco Monti. He also has commitments with Dmax and Sky behind him, and currently hosts Gazzology on Deejay Radio.

At the same time, he never gave up on the world of the web. His name is associated in particular with ‘Pass by BSMT’, a completely independent creative, physical and editorial project that he developed together with his team of collaborators. This podcast, which was born in April 2022, has become one of the most followed in Italy, with more than 240 Italian and international guests including Jared Leto, Valentino Rossi, Ben Affleck and Matt Demon, Tiziano Ferro, Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocelli, Gianni Morandi, James Blunt, Michelle Hunziker, Carlo Verdone, Jovanotti, Amadeus, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Roberto Saviano, Federica Pellegrini, Ultimo and Paolo Bonolis.

Last October he also landed in bookstores with ‘Even when no one believes it – Revenge of the underdogs’, which tells ten stories about ‘underdogs’, a term used in sports to denote those who start as underdogs and then win against all odds. Sports champion, actor, journalist, entrepreneur and artist who, with his life path, has inspired Gazzoli himself.

Personal life

Always passionate about sports, he played basketball until he was 15 years old, when due to heart problems, he had to stop but continued to follow and love it. Married to Sara Bolla and the father of two little girls, Gazzoli announced the passing of his 65-year-old mother, Giovanna, last September with a touching post on Instagram, which immediately garnered affection and solidarity from colleagues and fans.
