If you want to enjoy a cup of mulled wine at the Christmas markets, you’ll have to spend a little more money this year. On average, 4.54 euros must be paid (plus deposit). That’s seven percent more than the previous year and even 15 percent more than in 2023, as determined by voucher provider Coupons.de.

Especially in big cities and in popular tourist markets the price is extraordinarily high: the most expensive is Mulled wine in Berlin at the Memorial Church: Charges up to 7.50 euros for a cup – the deposit is included on top of that. At the Santa Pauli market in Hamburg, at Cologne Cathedral and in Berlin’s Westend, the price of a cup reaches 5 euros.

Erzgebirge tempts with affordable prices

Things remain solid in the east: you can get the trophies in Zwönitz and Annaberg-Buchholz in the Ore Mountains Mulled wine for 3.00 or 3.50 euros – it has become rare.

The reason for the price increase on Christmas market? Apparently this is due to rising energy prices, higher parking costs and greater staff costs.
