Mystery in Dubai, Russian crypto couple killed – News

A brutal murder, behind which there will be a network of fraud and the motive is an attempt at blackmail. It was Russian crypto millionaire Roman Novak and his wife Anna, whose bodies were found dismembered and buried in the desert in Hatta, southeast of Dubai, about a month after they disappeared.

The death apparently occurred after a meeting with potential investors. But requirements are a necessity in a grim story whose examination is complicated. What is certain is that eight alleged perpetrators have been identified by Russian investigators, although some argue that this was a fabrication by the couple to escape their past.

The reason is, the life of Roman Novak, 38 years old and from St. Petersburg, is certainly not a reflection of life. In Russia, the country still has an official debt of more than 6.4 million rubles (just under 700 thousand euros), local law enforcement officials told Tass. In November 2020, Roman Novak was sentenced to six years in prison for fraud, the Russian agency recalled. The victim, wrote the St. Petersburg online newspaper. Petersburg Fontanka, are several investors who have invested millions of dollars in Transcrypt cryptocurrency trading software, only to lose everything.

After serving his sentence, Novak left St. Petersburg. Petersburg in 2023. Since then he and his family have embarked on a life of luxury, travel and beaches. But apparently Novak has not lost the habit, and has launched a project for an application, ‘Fintopio’, dedicated to cryptocurrency transfers with Ukrainian developers. Even in this case, the money would simply run out, and unsuspecting investors would suffer losses that, again for Fontanka, amounted to half a billion dollars.

Perhaps the fateful meeting was in Dubai, on October 2, when the couple suddenly lost contact with their families. According to Fontanka, the two were murdered in a rented villa on the outskirts of Hatta, where they were lured under the pretext of meeting potential investors.

In reality, the criminals who wanted to rob Novak’s cryptocurrency wallet believed it contained billions of dollars. After finding it empty, the criminals allegedly killed the couple. But here the story gets lost in conjecture and hypothesis.

What is certain, as reported by Tass, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg Petersburg has announced the opening of a murder investigation. Behind the kidnapping, investigators explained, there was an attempt to extort cryptocurrency. The suspects in the crime were arrested in Russia. Three of those arrested, after fleeing the United Arab Emirates, are accused of murder: two soldiers returning from the conflict in Ukraine and a former policeman who later became a drug trafficker.
