Eurocup: Hamburg basketball players with the next loss

Veolia Tower Hamburg remains the main supplier in Group A in the Eurocup. Despite recovering twice in the second half, the bottom team lost heavily 81:92 (46:49) to Polish club Slask Wroclaw and thus also suffered defeat in the seventh game.

Head coach Benka Barloschky’s team started much better. Defensively, the Hanseatic team almost didn’t let anything happen and quickly pulled ahead to 11:4. However, at the end of the first quarter the lead had shrunk to one point. As the match progressed until just before the break, the duel remained at eye level.

However, as has often been the case with Hamburg’s performances in recent weeks, the team lost its structure after the restart. Despite almost no shots being made on offense, the opponents mostly made simple shots and suddenly led 65:51 into the third period.

But the people of Hamburg showed their morals. First the teams battled to within four points, then Justin Edler-Davis made it 81:83 with a three-pointer two and a half minutes from the end, after Towers fell behind again at 69:81. However, the Hanseatic people were no longer able to avoid defeat even though they rose again.
