How extraordinary is that?
Only 50 hours after that BBL liberation strike at Würzburg Baskets Rostock Seawolves also triumphed in the European Cup. And with exactly the same results!
That probably happens very rarely. As they did two days earlier in Würzburg, Wolves beat Antwerp Giants 75:63 – and thus created the top starting position to reach the intermediate rounds, which start in December.

Double win for the Seawolves! At the sparsely occupied Lotto Arena in Antwerp, the wolves were hungry from the start. At halftime, the visitors, who had to play without top star TJ Crockett, were already up by ten points. However, they almost gave up completely at the break and only took a narrow lead at 39:37.
Things got very strange after the resumption of the second half: neither team managed to score a single point in three and a half minutes, making missed shot after missed shot. Only then did Antwerp break the spell and equalize at the 39:39 mark. And took over the game. Rostock entered the final with a three-point deficit. But everything is still there.
And how! North Germany cruised to an 8-0 run, putting themselves back in pole position against Belgium, who they had clearly won in the first leg with 95:80.
And that run also laid the foundation for another win, in which DeAndre Lansdowne and Kassim Nicholson each had 15 points and Lukasz Kolenda’s 20 played the biggest roles.
With a fourth win in the fifth game, Wolves retained first place in their ultra-tight group of four ahead of their final preliminary round match against FC Porto next week (19/11/6pm).
All group winners and the six best group runners-up qualify for the next round. Rostock is on its way there.
