A ‘military Schengen’, here is the EU plan and what it means

Seven years after the military mobility action plan in Europe was launched by the Juncker Commission in 2018, von der Leyen’s Commission II is trying again, with the aim of create a ‘military Schengen’.

The package presented today, Wednesday 19 November, in Brussels proposes a new regulations on military mobility and joint communications. The Commission also aims to encourage innovation in the military sector and strengthen Europe’s defense industry, with a roadmap for the transformation of the EU’s defense industry.
