The advice of the sole survivor of the November 13 terrorist commando, who was sentenced to life in prison with an irreducible sentence, was addressed in a press release issued on November 10. As part of an investigation opened in January following the possible concealment of a prohibited object in custody (possibly a USB key), Salah Abdeslam was placed in police custody on November 4 for several hours and then again on Thursday 6, until the following day.
Other people were questioned, including a woman, who was presented as an associate and the investigation expanded to the offense of terrorist criminal association with intent to prepare a crime against humanity.
Maîtres Ronen, David, Vettes, Paci and Sax, from the Paris and Brussels bars, wanted to clarify: “ It seems that no USB key was found, Salah Abdeslam has had no relationship with his former partner since last April. (…) Until now, Salah Abdeslam has not been tried, let alone punished. And, more than ever, the presumption of innocence must be applied. (…) At this stage, Salah Abdeslam is not suspected by the court of being directly or indirectly involved in any criminal project. »
In 2022, Abdeslam was recognized by the court as the perpetrator of the attacks in Saint Denis and Paris which caused the deaths of 132 people and injured more than 400 people. Ten years later, many commemorations of the attack were held this week across France.
