The Guardia Civil is awaiting the intervention of the medical examiner of Imelga (Institute of Forensic Medicine of Galicia), who is now revealing the causes of death of a 50-year-old woman, nurse at the University Hospital Complex of A Coruña (CHUAC), found dead in her home in Abegondo (A Coruña) on Wednesday afternoon.
Next to her, in the same room as her, the deceased’s 87-year-old mother appeared unconscious and was transferred to the hospital in Mobile’s intensive care unit to try to revive her. According to the Guardia Civil, the nurse’s mother also died this Thursday. A Coruña officers have started an investigation to clarify what happened, pending the autopsies. According to an official spokesperson for the police, the mother was found “in bed”, “with very low vital parameters”, and at the scene there were no signs of violence or that anyone had entered the house.
The residents of the municipality near the city of A Coruña, residing in the A Peneda area, in a single-family house not far from the town hall, were found after the intervention of the Betanzos firefighters, who were able to access the interior of the house in an operation in which 112 Galizia, 061, Civil Protection and Guardia Civil also participated. The alarm was raised directly by the younger girl’s hospital colleagues, who warned of the nurse’s absence from her workplace for days.
The mother was an active person who did not require special care despite her advanced age. The two shared a house and the eldest allegedly remained next to her daughter’s body and was found unconscious after 5pm. on Wednesday, when the operation was activated.
