Flomborn (Rhineland-Pfalz) – Serious accident early Tuesday evening on the B271: A young woman (27) from the Alzey-Worms district died, a man (36) – also from the district – was seriously injured.
According to current police findings, the 27-year-old man was driving his Mitsubishi on the federal highway from Alzey to Flomborn. At a confusing right bend, he suddenly moved into the opposite lane for reasons that remain unclear. There he collided with an oncoming Kia, with a 36-year-old man driving it.
The impact was so severe that the woman was trapped in her car. Any help came too late for him – he died at the crash site.
The seriously injured driver of the Kia was taken by emergency services to Worms Hospital (Rheinland-Pfalz) has brought. Both vehicles were completely destroyed in the collision – damage: approx. 15,000 euros. They were arrested to keep evidence.
