Actress Michelle Yeoh was honored at the next Berlinale

The Malaysian actress will receive the Golden Bear award for her entire career at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival in February.

Michelle Yeoh, 63, will be honored for her “outstanding achievements in the field of film,” the festival said in a press release. “Michelle Yeoh is a visionary artist and performer whose work transcends borders – whether geographical, linguistic or cinematic,” said Tricia Tuttle, director of the Berlinale. The prize will be presented to him at the opening ceremony on February 12, 2026.

The Berlinale, which will be held from February 12 to 22, is the first major cinematographic event of the year in Europe and, along with Cannes and Venice, is one of the continent’s must-see events.

Michelle Yeoh became a member of the jury in 1999, then took over the screen in 1999 Tiger and Dragon And Everything Everywhere At Once.

She won the 2023 Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere At Oncebecoming the first Asian woman to receive this award.

Her film debut dates to the 1980s, before her Hollywood breakthrough in 1997 as China’s first James Bond girl in Tomorrow never dieswith Pierce Brosnan.

Among his four decades of filmography, he also left his mark on the public with his role in the Oscar-winning martial arts film Tiger and Dragon in 2000, historical drama Memoirs of a geisha in 2005 and romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians in 2018.
