Aerial bomb: A 250 kilo bomb paralyzes train traffic at Cottbus

Defusing a plane bomb at a Deutsche Bahn location in cotton bus has started. The city government announced that the evacuation was complete. Airspace was closed and train traffic was also stopped. According to Deutsche Bahn, travel on some lines may be canceled until 12.30 p.m. According to the city government, buses and trams are operating without restrictions.

According to the city government, around 500 Cottbus residents fled their homes in the morning because of the bomb disposal. A 300 meter exclusion zone has been established. The Bauhaus School gymnasium on August-Bebel-Straße is available as emergency accommodation.

Bomb disposal services are trying to remove the detonator of the 250-kilogram bomb and render it harmless. He was found on Tuesday while searching for ammunition. A World War II bomb was defused at a railroad site several months ago.
