Nearly a week after the kidnapping of 277 people in western Nigeria, the first eyewitness reports provide a description of the events that occurred on Friday evening at St Mary’s School in Papiri village. The wife of a teacher, whose family lives on the school campus, told Reuters how they were awakened by noises made by the armed intruders. The attackers tied up her husband and threatened to shoot their daughter if she did not stop crying. Then they took the teacher with them. He was one of twelve adults kidnapped.
