Less than two weeks after being released from prison, former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy was spotted this Saturday evening at the Parc des Princes where he attended the match between PSG and Le Havre.
The former head of state was freed from prison on November 10 by the Paris Court of Appeal, which ruled that he did not pose a flight risk and placed him under judicial supervision. However the court banned him from leaving France, having contact with other defendants and a number of people, including Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin, who visited him on 29 October.
New trial in June
In late September, Nicolas Sarkozy was sentenced to five years in prison with provisional execution and a fine of 100,000 euros for criminal association in the context of Libyan financing of his campaign in 2007. He immediately appealed his sentence and will stake his future in a new trial, scheduled for March 16 to June 3 at the Paris Court of Appeal.
On Friday, the former president announced that he would publish a book about his detention. Titled Diary of a Prisoner, a work will be released on December 10, published by Fayard.
