A bipartisan deal was reached in the Senate to fund the federal government through January 30 and end the government shutdown. CNN reported this, citing informed sources. Under the agreement, the vote on Obamacare has been split and will take place in December. The bipartisan deal reached in the U.S. Senate also includes a measure that Democrats are particularly interested in: rehiring federal employees fired during the government shutdown. This law also stipulates that employees on forced leave receive retroactive pay. The short-term spending bill prohibits the Office of Management and Budget from carrying out further mass layoffs until January 30.
