An Air France plane was en route from Paris to South Korea due to an emergency Munich has been redirected. According to the airport, the plane landed in the Bavarian capital in the afternoon. The cause was the smell of fire in the cockpit, the airline said when asked by the German Press Agency. As a precaution, the crew decided to land. It is still unclear what causes the burning smell.
An airport spokesman said the plane was pulled to a stop after landing. No injuries. The passengers were taken to the airport. Terminal service personnel and airlines look after travelers.
According to the airline, the return flight to Paris was planned for late evening. If necessary, accommodation will be provided to passengers there. The airline was initially unable to say when a replacement flight would depart for South Korea’s capital, Seoul.
