A man suspected of killing his 72-year-old mother on Monday with a sharp weapon in Hirson (Aisne) was arrested this Tuesday, November 18 in the same town and is in police custody, prosecutor Laon told AFP.
Actively sought since Monday, the 34 year old suspect took refuge with his parents’ neighbors. The latter was able to leave his house in the morning, “slightly injured” by this man, said prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Miot.
The suspect’s father had minor injuries
The man was captured “safely” on Tuesday afternoon after “hours” during which he stayed alone in his neighbor’s house, then climbed onto the roof, according to the Aisne gendarmerie.
Police were called on Monday evening morning by the father of the 34-year-old man, who also suffered minor injuries.
