Alberto Bertone, founder of Acqua Sant’Anna, dies at the age of 59. In 2016 he lost his partner of 40 years

Acqua Sant’Anna, the Bertone family, all its employees and collaborators, announce “with great sadness” the passing of Alberto Bertonpresident and CEO of the company, which took place today. Under his leadership, Acqua Sant’Anna “has grown into Italy’s leading mineral water company.

But his legacy is more than just economic results: his sense of humanity, respect for his collaborators, sensitivity to his region and constant desire to improve make him an example of authentic and generous leadership. A great man, deeply attached to his family, guided by altruism and an unforgettable sense of duty. This society shares our deep sorrow for the suffering of his family and all those who had the privilege of knowing him and sharing his human and professional journey with him.”

Disappearance of a partner

Born in Moncalieri (Turin) on 16 August 1966, to a family of construction industrialists originally from the Cuneo area, Bertone founded a bottling company in the Stura valley in 1996, which later became the first company in the sector in Italy with 20 million bottles produced daily and more than 130 employees at the Sant’Anna di Vinadio (Cuneo) factory. A political science graduate, Bertone is a father of two. In 2016 he lost his partner Roberta Ruffino, who passed away prematurely at the age of 40. In late October, a criminal trial against him, initiated after a competitor was sued for defamation, was postponed for health reasons.
