Another “Frenchie” is making waves in the NBA. Behind the phenomenon Victor Wembanyama, there is another French giant, Alexandre Sarr, who has started the season well in the big league of American basketball. The 20-year-old Frenchman, 2.13 m tall, who plays for the Washington Wizards, stood out on the night of Monday 10 to Tuesday 11 November in the loss against Detroit but with a good double-double (15 points, 15 rebounds).

Some recruiters still doubted his potential when he debuted in the NBA a year ago. Currently, Alexandre Sarr is averaging almost 19 points per game, not counting all the additional statistics that Americans love so much, and the excellence of the Frenchman. He even became the third-fastest player in NBA history to surpass 1,000 points, 100 three-pointers and 100 blocks, like Victor Wembanyama.

Alexandre Sarr has taken on a new dimension and confirmed the expectations placed on him by the Washington Wizards franchise. It’s no surprise, for Gilles Gombeau, president of Bouscataise AS, at Gironde, the player’s first basketball club. “Of course we are very proudhe explained. He started the season well. We imagine the potential because it is bigger than the others, there is something. He had his brother who predeceased him and his parents. He has tendencies. We know he can go far, that’s for sure and we’re very happy.”

And even though his fame is growing and he continues to score goals in the NBA, Alexandre Sarr has not forgotten the club where he was born. He had just asked his equipment supplier to send a set of jerseys and balls for all of Bouscat’s club members.
