Concrete framework between Frankfurt and Offenbach disappeared: After decades of vacancy and several changes of ownership, 1,200 rental apartments will now be built there, as announced by Frankfurt housing association ABG. The property sale announced at the end of last October has now been notarized.
ABG has purchased the former tower of Siemens subsidiary Kraftwerk Union (KWU) from Adler Group. Both companies agreed not to disclose sales figures. ABG wants to invest more than 500 million euros in an area with a gross floor area of 122,000 square meters. The framework is scheduled to be dismantled in spring 2026. The project is expected to be ready for occupancy in 2029.
“With the successful purchase of a long-dormant property on the Kaiserlei in Offenbach, we are creating the basis for a liveable residential area with social and commercial infrastructure,” said ABG Managing Director Frank Junker. The city council in Offenbach has approved the plans.
