America – Tigres: schedule and where to see the final of the women’s Liga MX

América and Tigres, two of the great protagonists of Liga MX, will face each other again in a series for the title. This is the fourth final between the Amazons and Eagles, and the third in the last three years. Although Coapa’s players won the title at Clausura 2018 on penalties (4-2), Tigres were the American executioners twice in Apertura 2022 and Apertura 2023, with an identical score of 3-0 on both occasions.

On paper the Amazons are considered favorites after a tournament they dominated from start to finish. During the regular phase, those led by Pedro Martínez managed to overcome the departure for American football of their greatest figure and historic scorer, Jacqueline The Magician Ovalle concluded the regular tournament as leaders with 42 points, the result of 13 wins, three draws and only one defeat. America, who battled injuries and erratic play throughout the semester, qualified for the championship as third overall with 38 points, representing 12 wins, two draws and three losses.

During the group stage, the Coapa team found its best form after comprehensively beating Monterrey in the quarter-finals (6-1 on aggregate) and Guadalajara in the semi-finals (4-0 on aggregate); while the Amazons beat Juárez by a narrow margin (1-0 on aggregate) and defeated Cruz Azul in a tight semifinal (3-2 on aggregate).

If Amazonas lift the cup, Tigres would add its seventh star in Liga MX and extend its record that certifies it as the most successful team in women’s football in Mexico. If Coapa were to win the title, they would win their third championship and get rid of the pressure they carry with them after having accumulated a losing streak in finals: since their last title in the Clausura 2023 against Pachuca, América has lost the last three times in which they have reached a final against Tigres (Apertura 2023), Monterrey (Claura 2024) and Pachuca (Claura 2025).
