An opportunity to get started | Opinion

I’m 17 years old and, even though I still live with my parents, I’m already starting to think about the future. It worries me to see that young people in this country can barely become independent. The prices of the apartments are impossible and the salaries do not match. It seems that having your own home has become a luxury. Our parents were able to start a life in their twenties; We don’t even know if we’ll be able to leave home before we’re 30. And it’s not for lack of desire or effort, but because the system doesn’t make it easy. If we want young people to build a future here, real policies are needed: more affordable housing, effective support and decent job opportunities. We don’t ask for privileges, just the chance to get started.

A pinch of hope

When everything goes wrong, a little good news can go a long way. This is the case of Zohran Mamdani’s victory in New York, who electorally prevailed over the Republican representative. Yet to be discovered, Mamdani has stood up to Trump, which is no small feat, if only to reverse the servility of the Secretary General of NATO, or the President of Pakistan, or those who participated as choreographers in the Sharm El-Sheikh absurdity. A brave boy with an attractive speech. I also assume he’s honest, given his youth. Hopefully it will lead to many more territorial victories, for the hope of those of us who can’t stand Trump.

The wrong words

The process of resignation?, both on the part of Mazón and the leadership of the PP, had its culmination and continued with the appearance of the Valencian president to announce it. Many words, too many. But the essential thing was missing: recognizing his very serious mistake on the fateful 29-O and remaining in office for a year, inflicting, if possible, even greater damage on the real victims of the tragedy. It was not just the confluence of natural factors that caused the damage, but above all its management. Trying to justify what happened with these factors, blaming the ruling party or hiding behind a lack of information only diminishes their moral turpitude and throws the ball around. Waiting a year to submit your resignation forced by popular pressure is a lack of sensitivity, humanity and common sense. His resignation as MP is another big stone that tarnishes his personal and public image.

stay updated

We live surrounded by constant news, alerts and analysis. Information has never been so accessible, but paradoxically we have never felt so much uncertainty. We consult the titles like someone searching for air, fearing that we will be late for something decisive, as if disconnecting were a form of irresponsibility. This need to update ourselves has turned us into exhausted spectators. Without stopping, information ceases to be knowledge and becomes noise. Clarity does not arise from excess, but from concentration. Perhaps true information maturity today consists in knowing how to choose when to look… and when to stop doing so.
