The arrival of the quinté : 13 – 8 – 9 – 16 – 3

This is a fun little two day meet offered to us, Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Deauville racetrack, exclusively on the fiber sand track.

The first event in the series pitted sixteen horses aged 3 and over over 2,500 m, in the Prix du Château de Bayeux. Part of stall 3, Hasapiko (n° 13) was intentionally placed at the back of the pack at the start of the course.

Still holding on in the middle of the final corner, Stéphane Wattel’s protégé was able to close behind his rival before finding his way only about three hundred meters from the finish line.

Daughter of Star Fabric then produced incredible changes of pace to make decisions with authority, which made Théo Bachelot very happy: “During his first outing on the sand, he had done too much. So last time, we decided to make him wait and it was worthwhile. It was a good lesson for today where I was a little lucky because the pace was consistent and some waves formed, which meant I didn’t find myself too far away at the start of the straight. Then his class made the difference. He has already shown enough quality to win this type of race. »

Behind the winners, we found only two 3-year-olds at the start. Also waiting behind the pack, Don’t Turn Me Off (n° 8) thrived on the final corner and bravely defended his efforts to the end but without being able to do anything against the winner.

racing favorite, Julia (n° 9) was always in the leading group before suffering a late attack after taking the best distance of four hundred meters from the finish line. Author of a great race finish after waiting in the final third of the peloton, Haviassor (n° 16) completes the winning combination of the quinté, ahead Bad boy (n° 3), another servant but had bad luck early in the sprint before finishing well, but too late.
