For each of them, the story started the same way: a phone call in May. “You have been withdrawn. » For the 130 citizens who agreed to participate in the citizens’ convention on the timing of children, desired by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and organized by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) between June and November, the draw was held at different times in life, randomly selecting very knowledgeable young parents and students who did not yet have children; professionals from the world of schools and business employees; some are used to participatory democracy, some are not at all. Those who told us about their experiences were aged 24 to 62 and came from all over France and abroad.
