Although diplomatic activity appears to be accelerating to end the war in Ukraine, Russian attacks continue. Emergency services reported on Wednesday, November 26, that the city of Zaporizhzhia had suffered a Russian attack “Hugh” in the evening. Ukraine continues to count the death toll.

Every morning at nine o’clock, all over the country: a moment of silence. Pedestrians stop, cars stop, in the cafe time stops. “Glory to Ukraine, glory to the heroes”, we hear through the speakers.

At the Lviv cemetery, in the snow-covered alleys, the square designated for the military, called Champ-de-Mars, was packed. A sea of yellow and blue flags, portraits of young soldiers… Like Rouslan, who died last August at the age of 48, who comes to mourn his sister Olessia several times a week. “I’ve been crying here for three monthshe said. I spent hours wondering why. There, there was a mother crying. On this side too… Over there, there were still young people from the 3rd assault brigade who died. This boy, in turn, was supposed to have children. And the Russians are wiping us out.”

“Remember, this is a genocide happening here.”

Regarding the peace plan proposed by Donald Trump, Ukraine should not accept it under any circumstances, he said: “He is someone who was not born here, who does not know our traditions. For him, it was easy to give up our territory. We cannot negotiate our heroes, we cannot negotiate their deaths, we cannot negotiate their honor, dignity and memories. We have no right to negotiate any of that!” If the peace plan is accepted and harms Ukraine, Olesya’s biggest fear is that Russia will one day attack the country again.
