Sinner, as expected, qualified for the final of the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin. The defending champion beat Australian Alex de Minaur in two sets with a score of 7-5, 6-2 in less than two hours of play. In the first half of play, Sinner needed seven attempts to break Alex de Minaur’s serve and win the first set. The Australian played well, defended very well and was always effective with his serve. However, after wasting three consecutive break points in the second game, he could no longer worry Sinner who took control of the game. De Minour’s defense was tough, but at 5-5, there was no fighting the Italian, who on the second try, broke serve and then easily won the first set. In the second set, de Minour looked increasingly tired and Sinner immediately took advantage of this by breaking serve again and leading 2-0. In the next round of service, Sinner, trailing 40-15, came back and made a second break, which almost closed the match. The Australian avoided 6-0 by canceling another break point at 4-0 for Sinner and won the point hard. The commitment of the players who never gave up was appreciated by the public who gave them a standing ovation after winning 1-4. A brief round of applause distracted Sinner who, in turn serving, gave the Australian a break point at 2-4. But this time, as is almost always the case in tournaments (ask Zverev), he finished things off with the winning serve. Then things went as they should and Sinner closed the second set with a score of 6-2. Now the South Tyrolean waits to find out his opponent for tomorrow’s final scheduled for 6pm. Tonight at 8.30 p.m., Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime will try to achieve the feat against Carlos Alcaraz in an attempt to turn what appears to be a announced final, yet another Sinner-Alcaraz match.
