Attack on Green Politician’s House: LKA publishes photo of suspected perpetrator

After the bomb attack on the house of Green Party politician Edeltraud Chawla in Dietzenbach, the Hessian State Criminal Police Office is now conducting a public search for the perpetrator. As the authorities announced on Thursday together with the Darmstadt prosecutor’s office, there were photos of the suspect and the car in which he was traveling in fleeing. The photos are available at polizei.hessen.de.

The latest information is that the suspect is a man who appears to be wearing a tracksuit with neon yellow stripes on the sleeves and outside of the trousers, as well as dark colored sneakers with white soles and possibly a white logo on the side facing outwards.

The perpetrator is said to have fled in the car.Hessian State Criminal Police Office

There have been references to a white Porsche Chayenne being seen at the crime scene. Investigators have now determined the type of vehicle to be a Porsche Chayenne GTS or Turbo, built around 2012, with a painted bumper and a bulge at the rear at the level of the exhaust system, black rims and a panoramic roof.

Explosive device at the front door

The crime occurred on the evening of October 16. The unknown person had planted an explosive device at the front door of the politician’s house on Nelson Mandela Road, which eventually exploded. No one was hurt. Police then investigated the suspected cause of the explosion and did not rule out a political motive.

Witnesses who can provide information regarding the identity of the suspect or his vehicle are asked to contact the police on 069/8098-1234.

This action caused horror, not least among politicians. Dietzenbach Mayor Dieter Lang (SPD) said: “Aggressive and violence-oriented behavior towards politically active people cannot be tolerated in any way.” Edeltraud Chawla herself said she was “very surprised”. He may have to “live with the fact that someone tried to attack him and his family.”
