The director general of the British network BBC, Tim Davie, and the chief executive of the news section, Deborah Turness, have resigned after being accused of bias in the broadcast of a program that included a fragmented speech by the president of the United States, Donald Trump. In this space, the Republican president appeared to urge his supporters to storm the Capitol in January 2021.
“The BBC is working well, but some mistakes have been made and, as director general, I must take final responsibility,” Davie wrote in his farewell letter, published by the British network.
