The former “Jolly Joker” in Braunschweig is still being converted into an events hall. The first concert is planned soon. There is also a Berlin band on the program.
It has over 100 million streams on Spotify and over 50 million hits on YouTube: Berlin band Grossstadtgefrischer is coming to Braunschweig next year. The musicians around vocalist Jen Bender will give a concert on September 4, 2026 in the event hall “Schön & Frölich” which is being built on the site of the former large discotheque “Jolly Joker”. As the band announced via Instagram, the concert in Braunschweig is one of three additional shows on their current tour, along with Karlsruhe and Friedrichshafen. “That’s it! Touring is really like that,” he said on the band’s social media channels. During the tour, the musical trio will also make stops in Hanover (March 6, 2026), Bremen (April 30, 2026), and Hamburg (November 14, 2026), among others.
The Berlin band Grossstadtgehisper was founded in 2003 by Bremen-born Jen Bender and Raphael Schalz. In 2008, drummer Chris Falk completed the trio. Stylistically, the band moves between electropop, electropunk and hip hop. The musician’s most famous hits include “F*ckt-Euch-Allee” and “Feierabend”.
The appearance at “Schön & Frölich” was not the first concert in Braunschweig for Großstadtgehisher. In early August 2024, the band played to approximately 1,200 fans at Applaus Garden in the Lion City. Tickets for the new dates in Braunschweig are now available. Tickets are available via the Eventim ticket portal, the Applaus Kulturproduktionen website and at well-known ticket offices. The price is 48.75 euros and above.
