Big praise for Maischberger: CDU man compares Pistorius to Helmut Schmidt | policy

Nothing else is possible! CDU foreign politician Roderich Kiesewetter has now put Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (65, SPD) at odds with Sandra Maischberger (59) and SPD legend Helmut Schmidt (†96).

Kiesewetter’s big praise: “We don’t want to be a belligerent, but Putin sees us as war targets. I agree with that Pistoriuswho chose 2029 for political reasons to avoid causing fear, but said that the Bundeswehr must prepare for war. It was one of the most important sentences of a Social Democrat after Helmut Schmidt, who understood what was at stake: freedom and security.”

In 1979, as Federal Chancellor, Schmidt pushed through NATO’s dual resolution against fierce resistance within his own party, which opposed newly modernized Soviet medium-range missiles with corresponding US missiles.

Kiesewetter’s threatening situation: “Putin not having to give up any of its goals. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania should leave NATO and the EU and join Ruski Mir. (Russian World, editor) Poland should leave NATO, America should leave Europe. These are demands that even Trump has not been able to change one bit. Putin is just playing his game, playing around with negotiations and being brutal in Ukraine. We have to understand it.”

Urgent warning from CDU-Politician: “People die every day in Ukraine because it is not adequately protected. Freezing the war is not a solution, and that is not the Chancellor’s position, nor Pistorius’s, because freezing would mean war crimes and a mass exodus from Ukraine.”

Kiesewetter’s accusations against Merz over the Taurus: “The Chancellor made a mistake. There was no need not to hand over the Taurus. Neither the intelligence services, the Bundeswehr, nor the company said there were any restrictions. It was the Chancellor’s political decision not to keep his word.”

Because, according to the CDU politician: “The Chancellor has promised something that many people believe in, not only in Ukraine. But he also looks at domestic politics. He sees that this question is difficult to explain to society, but he should expect society to do so. We made a mistake by not conveying Taurus and also not explaining it. We had to think about it for a long time.”

CDU politician on the current consequences: “America is now trying to deliver a tomahawk because Europe has done little. The Chancellor has suffered huge losses and the European Union has also lost a lot of credibility.”

SPD foreign politician Ralf Stegner (66), on the other hand: “We are arming like it is useless, we are cutting in half humanitarian aid and also development cooperation, which could prevent war. People have to die, starve, and we are supplying weapons that we say will definitely never be used. I feel it is very dangerous if we only think in such categories. We must not exaggerate now and talk about it now as if we were on the verge of war. That we are not at war.”

Kiesewetter’s response: “This is about preventing war, and the next two years are very important because we are not yet in a position to equip the Bundeswehr in the next two years so as to meet NATO’s objectives.”
