Rome, November 19 (Adnkronos) – “This is the most inconsistent maneuver in the last ten years. So desperate that it ends with a gratuitous taxation of plots of land and gold, as usual, in response to the needs of interest groups. This action punishes income from work, protects income, and ignores the real life of the family.” So said Democratic Party senator president Francesco Boccia, at Espresso’s 70th anniversary party in Rome.
“After four of Meloni’s five maneuvers – he continued – the truth is clear: tax pressures have increased, security has decreased, inequality has increased, waiting lists have become longer, almost 6 million Italians have stopped seeking treatment and meanwhile real wages and pensions have declined. The obligations of the United States towards their friend Trump have increased, while the business world has declined, hit by uncertainty and the absence of an industrial strategy.”
“We propose the opposite. The Democratic Party and the center-left coalition have proposed an alternative maneuver that reduces inequality, lowers taxes on workers and young people, builds a housing plan to bring residents and students back to historic centers, relaunches culture and business, and returns Italy to a path of European growth and not isolation. A country like Italy is not guided by tax abolition and tax and construction amnesties. It is guided by the restoration of dignity, opportunity and a future for those who care every day Italy stands tall”, he concluded.
