The soldiers from Ottaviano Carabinieri Station has executed a preventive order issued by the GIP of the Court of Naples, at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, against a person seriously suspected of committing a crime blackmail attemptmade worse by Mafia methods.
The suspect allegedly asked a businessman in the sector medical transportation payment of a sum of money to enable him to continue his business, stating that he was acting on behalf of a “friend of Castellammare”, threatening the intervention of a criminal organization in case of refusal.
The measures taken are precautionary measures ordered during the preliminary investigation, against which an appeal is permitted and the recipient is the person under investigation and, therefore, is presumed innocent until the final sentence.
