It’s one of the sensations of the year. Charlotte Cardin is everywhere. Playing on the radio with her hit song “feel good”, on TV as the godmother of Star Academy 2025, on tour at the biggest venues in France in 2026, including the Accor Arena in Paris on April 30. But before this giant concert, he will play the Hyper Weekend Festival. The event held for the 5th year at Maison de la radio, on January 23, 24 and 25, featured its first headliners a few weeks ago including Camille in a symphonic version, Thylacine at the heart of the new electro creation, Youssoupha and his guests for a tribute to Daniel Balavoine.
Her boss gives us a look at the rest of the program Charlotte Cardin is taking part in on Friday night. “He will do very big shows in 2026, especially at the Accor Arena, and we are happy to welcome him for a concert with a more intimate electric band, smaller than what he will do on tour,” enthuses Didier Varrod, head of music at Radio France and artistic director of the event. The Canadians will close out a night that will celebrate “the vitality of today’s pop” with bonuses from the promising Lancelot and Steve Ibrahim.
Ronisia is planning something “special”
Three other singers and strong personalities also grace the festival poster: Ronisia, an RnB revelation in the tradition of Aya Nakamura, who has just released new songs, will offer new creations on Saturday at Studio 104. “She’s the one who wants something special. She wants a big RnB show with surprise guests, dancers and covers,” explains Didier Varrod.
The same exercise in another genre for Nach, the younger sister of Matthieu Chedid aka -M-. We mostly know him at the piano. He will abandon his instrument to let himself be pushed by Vonfelt’s producing machine accompanied by a chorus with a unique performance entitled “The Electronic Soul” which will be seen on Sunday. On the same day, Hyper Weekend will celebrate Keren Ann’s return to the stage. The singer-songwriter released a new album a few weeks ago and will be touring in 2026. He will make his debut performance at the festival.
Flamenco sensation Yerai Cortés
Unique moment: always the idea of this gathering that proudly announces twenty creations in three days. Among them, in addition to Camille, Thylacine, Youssoupha, Yael Naim, Marguerite and Baptiste Hamon celebrating Dolly Parton’s repertoire, the organizers offered the impressive Victor Solf carte blanche to revisit “Blonde”, the landmark album by American rapper Frank Ocean for his 10th anniversary.
The Doug, the young French artist who is among our favorites of 2024, will try his hand at a pure acoustic guitar sound and Gaël Faure, former revelation of “Nouvelle Star”, will perform his show “Le Bruit du Wheat” among the readings and songs he usually plays on farms in the region.
The festival also bets on some gems to explore such as young hip-hop artists Lossapardo, Juste Shani and Gen accompanied by DJ Canblaster, Kiala Ogalawa from Japan, instrumentalist Chloé Antoniotti. And most importantly Yerai Cortés, the flamenco phenomenon in Spain where “he became a youth icon”, according to Didier Varrod, was not a little proud to welcome him surrounded by six singers for his first concert in Paris.
