The Gaza Strip’s civil defense announced, Wednesday, November 19, the deaths of 22 people in Israeli bombardment across the territory, with the army saying it carried out attacks against Hamas in response to what it considers a ceasefire violation.
Based on this new toll, which previously stood at 11, the Israeli attack left 12 people dead in Gaza City, including a husband and wife and their three children, according to the Gaza Civil Defense, a first aid organization operating under the authority of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas. The spokesperson for this organization, Mahmoud Bassal, also announced 10 deaths in the Khan Younes region, south of the Gaza Strip, including two minors whose ages were not given.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army accused “some terrorists (own) opened fire (Wednesday) to the area where (his) army operates in Khan Younes. These shots did not cause injuries, but they did “violation of the ceasefire agreement”, assessed the military communique, adding that“in response, (the Israeli army has) began attacking Hamas terrorist targets throughout the Gaza Strip.
