German rapper Arrest warrant was on stage again that night – but his club gig in Giessen ended after a few songs. The musician’s second concert following the release of his successful Netflix documentary Giessen, Hesse, only lasted about 15 minutes that evening, as dpa reporters on site reported. The Hesse native was herded in by security forces and then escorted out again.
Only on Saturday evening, Aykut Anhan (39), the real name of the arresting officer, arrived. Osnabrück gave his long-awaited first concert following the release of the Netflix documentary “Babo – The Arrest Warrant Story”. In the much-discussed documentary, it was discussed that the musician had consumed cocaine for years. In Osnabrück he assured the fans: “I am clean.” Even there he was only on stage for about half an hour.
Euro notes to the audience – but no words
Gießen’s La Louve club was also packed with patrons on Sunday night when an arrest warrant appeared on the stage shortly after 2am. Unlike in Osnabrück, he did not speak to the fans. During the performance, an arrest warrant officer threw euro banknotes into the audience. Once again, the rapper covered most of his face up to his eyes. He also wears sunglasses.
Netflix’s documentary about the arrest warrant gained millions of views just days after its release in late October and ranked number one in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It revolves around his difficult family history, street crime, fame, depression, near-fatal drug use – and covers his childhood in Offenbach’s high-rise Mainpark district to his rise to the top of the charts as a hip-hop star.
