There is an uproar in the Brandenburg BSW state parliamentary group considering the coalition crisis. According to information from the German Press Agency, four members of parliament submitted a motion of no confidence against the executive committee of the parliamentary group led by its chairman Niels-Olaf Lüders. Parliamentary groups are divided in a dispute over two government media agreements on broadcasting reform and media protection for young people.
According to DPA information, the parliamentary group signaled an exit despite a majority saying no to the country’s agreement for a vote in the main committee on Wednesday. Parliamentary group leader Lüders could vote no, Finance Minister Robert Crumbach could vote yes. To get a majority, the CDU must approve a nine-member committee.
The state parliament will vote on 19/20. A final decision on the state agreement will be taken in November. That BSW called for further broadcasting reform. The SPD has so far called for a uniform approach within the coalition.
