Cresco Award, Portici awarded for ‘Baby Screen’ project

Among the cities that won the Cresco Award 2025 – Sustainable Cities and Agenda 2030 in Bologna, Portici (Naples) stands out in the category of over 50 thousand inhabitants with the Baby Screen project, dedicated to the prevention and protection of children’s health. “This is a program that we implement together with ASL and the pediatricians’ association – explains Mayor Vincenzo Cuomo – and promotes seminars aimed at parents on correct lifestyle, nutrition and family education, as well as providing free children’s clinics on weekends”.

The goal is to prevent and reduce pressure on emergency rooms by offering local local services. “This experience has produced extraordinary results – added Cuomo – as we have eliminated hundreds of hospital admissions, improving the care of children and the well-being of families.” This project, funded by the social and health sector 11, will continue with new heart screening in schools. “Investing in childhood prevention means investing in a healthier and more sustainable city”, concluded the Mayor.
