Culture, ‘The American Dream’ at the Center for American Studies

The Center for American Studies, in collaboration with the main Italian and American universities of the Capital, inaugurated the fourth edition of the Festival of American Culture, dedicated to the theme “The American Dream: myths, realities and contradictions”. How many of those dreams are still alive today? Which promises have been kept and which have changed over time? Through meetings, debates and testimonies, the Festival will explore the evolution of this myth, questioning its lights and shadows, its historical roots and its impact today.

A critical and participatory journey to understand how the American Dream continues to shape individual and collective aspirations, including new hopes, challenges, and perspectives. Born in 2021, this Festival aims to bring people closer to and get to know the culture of the United States, understand its values, and reflect on past and present relations with Italy and Europe.

The program will start tomorrow from 18.00 at the Center for American Studies (Via Michelangelo Caetani 32, Rome). After initial remarks, the evening featured a Lectio Magistralis by Monica Maggioni, Board Member of the Center for American Studies. Everything will be accompanied by music from the Smile Orchestra and Gospel Choir from Tor Vergata University.
