The Christmas market at Hamburg’s town hall market is open
According to the city government, nearly three million visitors visit the market every year.
The historic Christmas market at Hamburg’s town hall market has opened. The city’s first mayor, Peter Tschentscher (SPD), and the market organizer, Roncalli circus director Bernhard Paul, toasted with organic wine. After the opening, visitors overflowed.
According to the city government, the Christmas market consists of around 80 stalls and attracts nearly three million visitors annually. This market is famous, among other things, for its alley where traders sell toys. Other vendors sell carvings, jewelry and art, as well as almonds, gingerbread and nuts.
In Hamburg, several markets are already open before Dead Sunday. For example, “Wandsbeker Winter Magic” which can be visited from the beginning of November. A query shows that a total of 44 markets are held in the city. Some markets have increased security measures, resulting in higher fees.
