In Neustadt am Rübenberge, a 61-year-old Pedelec driver crashed into a car door that suddenly opened. His wounds were in danger of death.

The accident with life-threatening consequences occurred on Thursday morning in Neustadt am Rübenberge. A 61-year-old Pedelec driver hit a car door that suddenly opened and fell heavily in what was described as a door accident.

According to previous findings from the Hanover Police Traffic Accident Service, the 61-year-old man was driving on Ahnsförth Road towards Landwehr in his Pedelec at around 10:50. At the same time, a 68-year-old man tried to get out of his VW Tiguan parked on the side of the road. When he opened the driver’s door, the Pedelec driver approached from behind. The 61-year-old man hit the open door and fell to the asphalt.

In the door-door accident, the two-wheeled driver suffered serious injuries and had to be rushed to hospital. There he was diagnosed with life-threatening injuries. Police estimated material damage from the accident at around 350 euros.
