There are only eight countries left in the running. Eight countries looking to win the Holy Grail of world tennis: the Silver Salad Bowl in the Davis Cup. This Tuesday begins the final phase of the national competition in Bologna, where double title holders Italy welcome their competitors.
The first quarter-final will pit France against Belgium (Tuesday, 16.00). Led by their captain Paul-Henri Mathieu, Arthur Rinderknech, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Corentin Moutet, Pierre-Hughes Herbert and Benjamin Bonzi will try to bring down the Belgian team and their leader Zizou Bergs to continue the adventure against Italy or Austria, who challenge each other this Wednesday (4 pm) without Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti.
Elsewhere in the standings, Carlos Alcaraz’s Spain will kick off the final against the Czech Republic on Thursday (10am), before Argentina and Germany close out their quarter-finals (5pm).
Starting on Friday, it’s time for the semifinals, starting with the table section between France and Italy (16.00). The next day, the other two semifinalist countries will compete for 2nd place in the final (12 p.m.). The final will take place on Sunday, at 3pm, to end the season in style.
