Rome, 17 November (Adnkronos) – The Supreme Defense Council, which met for more than three hours in the Quirinale under the chairmanship of the head of state, Sergio Mattarella, “examined the situation in southern Lebanon, where the security framework continues to be fragile, with the continued violation of resolution no. 1701 of 2006 and the unacceptable repetition of attacks by Israel against the Unifil contingent, currently led by Italy. Also in connection with the decision of the UN Security Council to conclude the Unifil mission, the guarantee of the security of the Blue Line remains impossible avoided, supporting the enhancement of the capabilities of the Lebanese Armed Forces”.
