When asked by a police spokesperson to NDR, the suspect was arrested at his home in Lindhorst at around 11 p.m. The man was slightly injured in the attack and is being treated by emergency services. Police personnel from the special operations command (SEK) remained unharmed.

Residents in the small town, which is about 30 kilometers west of Hanover, were asked not to leave their homes and apartments and not to stay outside. Following the man’s arrest, this warning was lifted. “There is no longer any danger,” a police spokesman said. Previously, no one had been injured by the gunfire.
